I have an acer aspire one d257. I noticed a horizontal line on my laptop screen yesterday. The horizontal line changes color depending on the color of the screen. On a white background, it changes to blue. On a black background, it changes to red. When i put pressure on my screen, it doesn't go away.

Step 1: Control Panel/Power Options/Edit Plan Settings and disabling "USB selective suspend setting". Step 2:For the specific device you want to use to wake up your laptop: Device manager >> mouse/keyboard >> properties >> power management. Check the "Allow this to wake" box.
1. Go into "Control Panel" and then "Power Options". 2. Click the "Change plan settings" link next to which ever plan you are currently using and then click "Change advance power settings". 3. In this new window click "Display" to open up the listings under it. Turn off your Chromebook. To power off your Chromebook press the power button for about a second to lock your screen. Keep pressing the power button to completely shut down your Chromebook. If your're on the main sign-in screen, you can click the Shut down button in the lower-right corner of the page or simply close the lid to shut down.
The steps are simple and include; 1. Click on the ‘Start’ button or the ‘Windows’ icon at the bottom-left corner of your Acer laptop screen. 2. From the options that showed up, click on the ‘Power’ button. It is a circular button with a vertical line in it. The system power options will pop up. 3.

Hi Acer91, I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this. Open the Settings App. Go to Accounts - Sync Your Settings. Turn off all options on that page. Restart (not shut down) your PC, then set your preferred Screensaver and Lock Screen and check if those settings now stick.
